A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding a new section, designated §3-1-18a, relating to imposing a limit of three terms on certain officials elected to public office in the state.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
No person seeking a public office pursuant to §3-1-16, §3-1-17, and §3-1-18 of this code may serve more than three consecutive terms for the same office. This restriction does not apply to partial terms to which an official may be appointed.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to limit the number of terms of elected officials to three consecutive terms.
